The Niagara Ostomy Association is responsible for maintaining and protecting personal information under its control. The Niagara Ostomy Association has a Privacy Officer who is responsible to ensure that the Association complies with its privacy obligations in accordance with applicable laws.

The Niagara Ostomy Association may, from time to time compile and use data in an anonymous, aggregate form to generate statistical data for planning and research purposes and to meet reporting requirements of various sources.

Access to personal information is restricted to those Niagara Ostomy Association volunteers who need to know in the course of their duties. Access to personal information will also be granted, where the Niagara Ostomy Association is legally required to release the information and provided that disclosure does not violate any applicable statutes to the person to whom the information pertains where there is an appropriate written request. The use and disclosure of personal information will be granted within a reasonable amount of time.
Challenging Compliance, Complaints or inquiries about the collection, use, disclosure or retention of personal information and the Niagara Ostomy Association’s compliance with these set principles should be directed to the Privacy Officer. This Privacy Office will investigate complaints and ensure appropriate measures are taken.
